The hidden, private places that are contained within the walls of the house are discovered and exposed.  There is an eroticism in the investigation, as though the guts of the furniture yearn to be caressed, the gaping hole in the chimney-breast aches to be satisfied.  Outside the plants appear to slip beneath the wall, in search of another garden that perhaps does not exist.
